Trusting the Process ✨ Day 1: Hula Hoop Crocheted Mandala

And so it begins! Day 1 of my new hula hoop crochet mandala project is officially underway. I found many incredible designs by Helen Shrimpton and ended up selecting her Sacred Space Blanket design as I could envision stopping at one of the rows before the design starts to get squared off. Helen even gives you a coloring page of the design to plan your colors. I got stuck in some analysis paralysis while trying to map the colors out but I perused her FB group and lots of people said to start working the design and let the color order flow on its own. So today, I completed rows 1-8 and that is exactly what I did. I’m using Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton for this, and I am already in love with how these colors are working together.

The colors I selected are: Admiral, Chambray, Silver, Camel and Ecru

Amazon mostly sells digital counters and I don't love them. There isnt a replaceable battery so if I put down a WIP with its counter and don't pick it up in 3 months, I worry the counter is dead. In order to wake up the screen, you have to click the button but it is the same button that you click to add a row. I worry as soon as I push it to wake it up that I have also pushed it to add a row. The digital ones are much less expensive but I prefer these mechanical ones.
