Astute Pursuits ("we," "us," or "our") operates astutepursuits.com. This page explains what information is collected when you visit the site, what happens to it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Just by visiting. Like most websites, our hosting provider's server logs may automatically record your browser type and operating system, the pages you view and when, your IP address, and the page that referred you.
If you use the contact form. We collect the name, email address, subject, and message you type in. We use them only to read and reply to your message. The message is delivered to us by email through our email provider, Resend. We do not sell this information or add you to any mailing list.
Link clicks. When you click a product, resource, or pattern link, we record which item was clicked and from which page. This count does not include your name, email address, or other personal details.
Usage counts. We also keep simple, anonymous totals of how often parts of the site, such as our tools, are used. These totals are not linked to you, do not use cookies, do not include anything you enter, and are counted whether or not you accept cookies.
Analytics
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit. Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_32RY5KFCMX and receives information such as the pages you view, your approximate location, your device and browser type, and your IP address. This only starts if you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Decline, Google Analytics is not loaded. Affiliate Links
Astute Pursuits participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program. When you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Amazon and other affiliate partners may use cookies to track these referrals; their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Cookies and Browser Storage
The only cookies this site sets for visitors are the Google Analytics cookies described above, and only if you accept them. Your cookie choice is remembered in your browser's local storage so the banner does not keep asking. Tools on this site may save your settings or saved items in your browser's local storage on your device. What you enter into a calculator or color tool, including photos, is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to this site. This does not apply to forms that send us a message, such as the contact form, or to the site search. If you share a link from a tool, what you entered may be contained in the link's web address, and our website host's server records may capture it. A login cookie is used only by the site owner to manage the site. Affiliate links may cause third-party cookies to be set by those partners after you leave this site.
Third-Party Services
- Cloudflare hosts the site, stores our images, and provides Turnstile, a spam check on the contact form that looks at technical signals from your browser to tell people from bots.
- Google Fonts supplies the site's typography. Your browser requests the fonts from Google, which receives your IP address.
- Resend delivers contact-form messages to us by email.
- Retailers. Some product images are loaded directly from the retailer's servers (for example, Amazon), which can see your IP address when your browser requests them.
These services handle data under their own privacy policies.
Social Media
Links to our Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, and Facebook profiles are provided for your convenience. Clicking those links takes you to third-party platforms with their own privacy policies. We do not receive any personal data from your interactions on those platforms.
Your Choices
You can decline or withdraw consent to analytics cookies at any time using Cookie settings, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you would like a message you sent through the contact form deleted, ask us through the contact page.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
