Blue and white strands of sport weight yarn held together to create a marled crochet kiss-clasp coin purse. The pouch features a round brown leather tag with a dragonfly that reads "choose joy," has a dark metal textured frame, and sits upright on a light speckled countertop with potted plants blurred in the background.

Kiss Clasp Coin Purse

Completed November 2025

This blue and white crochet kiss-clasp coin purse is a fun stash-buster project. I held two strands of sport weight yarn together for a sturdy texture.

Project trick alert: I held two strands of sport weight yarn together to make this pouch. Did you know that holding two threads of sport weight is equivalent to one strand of weight 4? By combining a solid blue strand with a solid white strand for the top and a solid blue and sparkly grey for the bottom, I created a custom marled effect without needing a specialty yarn.

Construction of the pouch body was smooth sailing using the linked pattern by @hearthookhome, but it was a bit fiddly to get the bag to attach to the metal frame. My best advice is to make sure you have a fine needle that fits through the frame holes, and only use a single strand of your yarn for attaching the pouch to the frame.
